How a group looks in SAP
Each company code is an entity, and a group is a set of them in one client. S/4HANA knows they’re related. What it doesn’t do on its own is produce the group’s statutory statements in the format an Indian filer needs, with eliminations and top-side adjustments applied.
What is read
- S/4HANA: ACDOCA, the universal journal. One table holds every line item with its company code, ledger, currency and profit centre, so a single read gives you both the statutory and the management view of each posting.
- ECC 6.0: BKPF and BSEG, or FAGLFLEXA where New G/L is active. ECC has no universal journal, so the same detail is assembled from those tables. The output is the same.
Part way through a migration? Each company code is read the way its own release allows, and they all land on the same mapped data.

Questions
Commonly asked
Does it write anything back to our system?
No. Every connection is read-only. Nothing is posted, changed or deleted in your ERP.
Do we need a data warehouse or middleware first?
No. The connection reads your system directly, with nothing to build in between.
What if different entities are on different systems?
That's the normal case. Each entity is read from whatever it runs on, and the group reporting happens on the mapped data afterwards.
