FINK

Alerts

Know a number has moved the wrong way before the board meeting does, and know immediately if a sync has stopped working.

A warning is only useful while you still have time to act on it. FINK tells you when a number moves, so you hear about it before the month-end pack does.

  • Threshold alerts. Pick the measures you care about and the line they shouldn’t cross. FINK tells you when one does.
  • Anomaly alerts. Unusual movements get flagged as well.
  • Sync warnings. If a pull from your ERP fails, you get a warning. Stale data doesn’t sit in a report looking current.
  • One set of figures. Alerts come from the same numbers your variance report uses, so a warning can’t drift away from the report behind it.
FINK · Alerts Revenue more than 5% behind budget
  • Revenue, West 22,760 against a budget of 24,500 — -7.1%
  • Revenue, International 8,560 against a budget of 9,400 — -8.9%

Sent when the figure crossed the threshold, not when somebody next opened a report.

In this example, two regions are behind plan. They’re the same two regions the budget vs actual screen shows.

Questions

Commonly asked

What happens when an ERP sync fails?

FINK warns you that the data is out of date. You won't be reading a report that has quietly stopped refreshing.

Do alerts use different numbers from our reports?

No. They're worked out from the same figures as the variance report, so the two always agree.
